Type of Service: Post-conviction legal services and investigation to convicted prisoners in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia whose innocence can be proved by DNA or other newly discovered evidence.

Case Types: Post-conviction criminal cases in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia that have already been appealed and the inmate no longer has a right to appointed counsel.

Eligibility Screening: Individuals wrongly convicted of a felony in state and federal courts in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. The inmate must be making a claim of innocence based on substantial new evidence that has not been considered previously by a court. The inmate must not be currently represented by another attorney in the case, nor have the right to appointed counsel.

Intake Hours: Inmates should contact us by mail with their requests for aid.
