Who We Are & What We Do

In an effort to provide effective legal services to the women seeking our assistance, we have compiled a list of the types of legal cases Our Place D.C. will handle. It is our long-term hope to provide direct legal services to every woman who requests our help. If we are unable to handle your case, we will make every attempt to refer you to other legal service providers in the District (or appropriate jurisdiction).

The majority of requests for legal services Our Place has received have been for help in four areas: Parole, Institutional Issues, Medical, and Child Custody. We are responding to the expressed needs of women by focusing our work in on these cases. We also realize that the need may shift and change and thus we hope to be as adaptable as we can, taking into consideration our capacity and resources.
