Our Programs & Services

  • Camille's Place to provide emergency shelter for women who are homeless upon their release from jail or prison.
  • Clothing Boutique to provide women with new and gently used clothing, as well as basic household items.
  • Counseling Services to provide mental health support to women returning home from incarceration and/or their families.
  • Drop-In Center to offer women a safe place to relax while obtaining basic services such as clothing, vouchers for identification, and tokens for transportation.
  • Employment Services to link women with employment opportunities in the DC area; to equip them with the skills needed to obtain and maintain employment.
  • Family Services to assist children throughout their mothers' incarceration and to facilitate the reunification process.
  • Family Transportation to a distant prison to offer low-cost transportation and lodging for families with loved ones incarcerated at the federal prison in Danbury, CT.
  • Finding Our Place, our quarterly newsletter, to inform our community about issues related to women and the criminal justice system, to build a connection with women who are incarcerated, to offer them hope of a postive life on the outside.
  • HIV/AIDS Services to educate women while they are incarcerated and upon release about HIV/AIDS, including methods of transmission, prevention, and care.
  • Housing Referral to assist women who would otherwise have no safe place to return to find transitional housing immediately upon their release from prison.
  • Legal Services to assist women currently involved with the criminal justice system in their navigation of different political, organizational, and community structures; to provide advocacy on behalf of these women; to educate them about their rights.
  • Prison & Jail Outreach to inform women who are incarcerated about the opportunities and struggles that await them upon their release; to maintain bonds between these women and their communities; to form a solid link between them and Our Place services.
  • Referral Services to link women to medical and substance abuse treatment.
